On February 8, 2018, come celebrate the release of CIIS alumna Dr. Mariana Caplan’s eight book, Yoga & Psyche: Integrating the Paths of Yoga and Psychology for Healing, Transformation, and Joy. Join us for an evening that is experiential, informative, humorous, and celebratory. The event will feature an optional practice period (with Nubia Teixeira and live music); a presentation of the book with Q & A; a mini and participatory version of the renown musical satire Zen Boyfriends, and book signing and champagne.

On February 10, 2018, a daylong immersion will be offered at CIIS for those who wish to pursue the topic more in depth. This interactive and experiential day will include discovering and experiencing the benefits of current Yoga & Psyche research; experiential practice of their integration in both psychotherapeutic and yoga contexts; the new and potent innovations in somatics, neuroscience, and trauma healing and how they impact this integration; and how you can be a part of the creation of a field in which you can have a unique role in its unfolding.

MARIANA CAPLAN, PHD, MFT, E-RTY 500, is a psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and author of eight books in the fields of psychology, spirituality, and yoga. She has been teaching workshops and trainings online, in yoga studios and universities, and at major retreat centers throughout the world since 1997. She is the founder of Yoga & Psyche International, an organization created to integrate the fields of yoga and psychology globally, and lives in Fairfax, California. She graduated CIIS in 1994 with a Masters degree in Integral Counseling Psychology when it was still on Haight Street, and since 2001 has been involved with CIIS as adjunct faculty, graduate student travel trip leader, public programs innovator, and the creator of the first Yoga & Psyche International Conference in 2014.
