Film Release - Conscious: Fulfilling our Higher Evolutionary Potential
A film by CIIS alumni Alan Baiss & Joseh Garcia with the original music score created by Joseh Garcia. The filmmakers will be present and available for Q&A after the film.
About the film:
Discover how to flourish as a transitional being in an evolving universe. Conscious is a one hour film inspired by the work of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother featuring interviews with Brian Thomas Swimme, Stanislav Grof, Michael Murphy, Sean Kelly, Aster Patel and many more. Journey with esteemed visionaries as they delve into science, the arts, love, and divinity to unveil our most profound human potential. With beautiful imagery, inspiring music, and the wisdom of respected scholars, the documentary film Conscious unveils a deeper spiritual meaning in our radically changing world.

Suggested Donation: $5.00 - $10.00 Supports the Alumni Scholarship Fund

The DVD, the Book, and the CD featuring the original soundtrack will be available for purchase after the showing.

Alan Baiss (ICP ’92) worked for many years in private practice as a psychotherapist until significant personal events lead to a redirection in his life and he began producing documentary films. His earlier film, INTEGRAL CONSCIOUSNESS: Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga and how Haridas Chaudhuri brought it to the West has become a reference for the history of CIIS, its founder, Haridas Chaudhuri, and Integral Yoga.

Joseh Garcia (EWP ’11) worked as a psychotherapist in Brazil and maintains an active music career. He has held concerts in France, Canada, the United States, and Brazil, and has worked in cooperation with leading artists, such as Grammy nominated Silvia Nakkach. In 2011 he released the EP Bossa a Trois produced by France’s Daniel Masson (Buddha-Bar). Joseh’s involvement with Conscious is a natural extension of his long-time interest in consciousness studies.
