A Lecture/Demonstration with CIIS Professor Judye Hess and with Roger Marsden (CLN ’01)
Friday, September 7, 2012, 7:00PM–9:00PM

Lecture participants receive an introduction on how they come across to others and experiment with being more honest and direct in their relationships, developing more effective ways to communicate. Facilitators will utilize a variety of techniques from Gestalt therapy, psychodrama, and encounter, such as “remaining in the here-and-now,” “doubling,” and “revealing the statements behind questions,” promoting an intense and immediate group experience. For those who wish a deeper experience and understanding of Integral T Groups, please register for the Integral T Group Workshop on 9/15/2012.

Judye Hess, PhD, has been facilitating groups for 30 years. She is core faculty at CIIS, where she has taught group dynamics for the last 15 years. An active member of the Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society (NCGPS) and the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) for many years, Hess has facilitated numerous workshops and institutes for both of these organizations.
Roger Marsden, PhD, a CIIS graduate, has led groups for adults and adolescents, including facilitating workshops and institutes with Judye Hess for the Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society. He is currently a mental health clinician with the city of Oakland.
